The extract of elder is manufactured by a special careful extraction process which dissolves the hydrophilic ingredients of the fl owers. These are the Biofl avonoids,Isoquercitrin, Hyperosid, Quercitrin,Astralgin and above all Rutin. They also named α-Flavonols. In addition the extract also contains tannins(e.g. derivates of gallic acid), derivatives of hydroxyl cinnamic acid above all caffeic acid and its ester with chinic acid. The special extract stands out for a minimum quantity of Rutin and Tannins and demonstrates a spectrum of very interesting actions in cosmetic formulations.
